3rd Annual Transgender Youth Summit and Parents Summit

Registration For The 2010 Trans Youth Summit Open Now

Are you a transgender youth (24 and under), or a parent of a youth?  Join youth from across Massachusetts and greater New England at our third annual free Transgender Youth Summit!  It’s on June 19th at Northeastern University’s Curry Student Center in Boston.  Doors open at 9:30 and the summit runs from 10 AM to 5 PM.  Lunch and refreshments will be provided, and travel stipends are available for youth who need help getting to the summit.

This summit is for youth 24 and under from Massachusetts/New England that identify with, or could fall under, the label 'transgender' or youth who are in some way connected to the transgender youth community, such as partners and friends, to meet and connect with other transgender and gender variant youth. At the summit, youth will have the opportunity to share ideas, learn about their legal rights, learn about the larger transgender community, participate in workshops and fun activities. There will be a separate track for parents of trans youth.

Youth Activities include:
Dance;
Gender Identity Groups;
Exploring Your Voice: A Writing Workshop;
Creating Art;
Performance and Drag Exploration;
Organizing in schools & communities;
Health and Legal Information.

Parents/Guardians Activities include:
Addressing legal issues and advocating for your child;
Health care with Dr. Ralph Vetters of Sidney Borum Jr. Health Center;
Information on MTPC's newly formed Families for Transgender Rights (FTR) Initiative;
And time for networking and guided support group.

This event is closed to the public. Only registered participants will be
admitted.
