Ian Benson Project

Ian Benson Project Amethyst Ribbon CampaignThe Amethyst Ribbon Campaign was established as part of the Ian Benson Project. Ian was a 16-year old affirmed male who took his own life in October 2007. Ian’s mother, TYFA’s secretary/treasurer, hopes to help other children and families avoid the pain and struggles that can lead to suicide among trans youth.

Support

Donations to TYFA are tax-deductible (Federal Tax I.D. 20-8050977).

TransYouth Family Allies (TYFA) is an all-volunteer organization. Through our efforts, we work to bring the issues facing gender variant and gender questioning children and their families into greater public awareness. In addition to the programs already listed on our website there are new programs for addressing self-esteem, depression and suicide prevention currently under development. Your donations help to fund such educational programs and our ability to present them to schools, medical offices, social service agencies, conferences and other venues which will benefit trans and gender variant children and their families.
